What is a Bail Bond?

A bail bond is a financial guarantee that a person will appear in court as required. When a person is arrested, they are typically taken to jail. The person can be released from jail if they post bail.

There are two types of bail bonds:

  • Cash bond: A cash bond is a payment of the full amount of bail to the court.
